As part of the Nike x Doernbecher 2014 Freestyle Collection, the Air Jordan 8 Retro DB ' Doernbecher ' was released. Designed by Caden Lampert, who is fighting a life-threatening autoimmune disease known as the Guillain-Barré syndrome, the vibrant sneaker features a Hyper Blue upper sprinkled with Electro Orange, Tour Yellow, and black accents. Released at the Portland Art Museum in November 2014, the sneaker also contains a handful of personal details. A passionate basketball player, the #14 jersey from Caden hits the cross-strap, and the right tongue is accented by a cobra graphic. A glow-in-the-dark fingerprint is also included, along with the inspiring phrases 'Hang Loose,' 'Rock On,' and 'Brave.'
